Apparently, the decision has been made, and WWE has canceled the match between IYO SKY and Asuka for WrestleMania 42, which was set to be announced later this week.

Last night, during Monday Night RAW, WWE emphasized that SKY’s main focus, at least for the major event, is her partnership with Rhea Ripley, as well as helping her capture the WWE Women’s Championship.

Although SKY was defeated by Kairi Sane, with Asuka being largely responsible for it, two points make it very clear that a match between the former Kabuki Warriors partners will not happen for now.

First, SKY was once again attacked by Jade Cargill after attempting to save Ripley from a group assault that included the champion and Asuka, leaving her match with Sane aside. Another point is that, in less than three days, SKY suffered her second consecutive loss, leaving her completely “weakened” for a major match this weekend.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, SKY, who had posted an open challenge on social media to face Asuka at the Showcase of Immortals, simply deleted the post.

Everything suggests that SKY will, in one way or another, be part of the match between Ripley and Cargill at WrestleMania 42, while Asuka is still awaiting the possibility of, alongside Sane, entering the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match if the Bella Twins are removed from the match at the last minute.
