The sudden absence of Toni Storm from AEW programming in the week following Revolution, in mid-March, remains one of the most debated and discussed topics.

As previously reported by House of Wrestling, Storm was planned to have a rivalry with Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship, but this was canceled due to her unexpected absence.

Last night, during the press conference held after AEW Dynasty, Tony Khan commented on the absences of Storm and Kyle Fletcher, revealing new plans for the wrestler.

“Toni Storm and I made many changes to this pay-per-view over the past few weeks. Both would have been an important part of it, and both are a huge part of AEW. Whenever I can have Kyle Fletcher or Toni Storm involved in an AEW event, it’s very important. So after Revolution, I expected both to be in matches on the show.”

With Storm’s absence, Thekla put her title on the line against Jamie Hayter, defeating her and remaining champion.

It is expected that Storm will return to AEW programming only in 2027. The reason for her absence, however, remains a great mystery.
