Even as the marquee name of the second night of WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns drew criticism from fans after mentioning WWE‘s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, during the event’s Post-Show.
The new World Heavyweight Champion closed out WWE‘s panel after the Showcase of Immortals and commented on his contract renewal with the company. At one point, however, Reigns said that “WWE, TKO, and Endeavor” had finally signed the check.
The mere mention of TKO triggered an immediate and loud reaction from the crowd. At first, Reigns did not understand what the audience was shouting, but when he realized it, he mocked them and called the fans a “bipolar bunch”.
The truth is that the booing reflects the dissatisfaction of a large portion of WWE fans with the current management.
In recent months, TKO has faced criticism over higher ticket prices, excessive advertising during broadcasts, and even direct corporate involvement in storylines.
