The inclusion of Pat McAfee in the rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42, has generated major repercussions both inside and outside WWE.

Since entering the rivalry at the recommendation of Ari Emanuel and being treated as an untouchable figure in WWE, McAfee has caused significant setbacks for Rhodes, as the champion has come out on the losing end so far, failing to get the upper hand on any SmackDown since then.

In a recent interview with Shane’s Secret Podcast, Rhodes expressed his concern about McAfee’s interference.

“What I would say is that, from what I’ve seen right now, everyone around Pat McAfee—his orbit—probably needs someone to say no every now and then. It seems like a dangerous group of people; there needs to be someone in the room who says, ‘I don’t know, man.’ Jumping headfirst into the WrestleMania main event, and while I was getting beaten in the ring the other day, I looked up and he was wearing sunglasses. Like, he put on sunglasses to go out there. It’s a different era of wrestling.”

It is important to note that McAfee’s pro wrestling career will be on the line at WrestleMania 42. If Orton is defeated by Rhodes, McAfee will leave pro wrestling, never to return, not even as a commentator.

The match for the Undisputed WWE Championship will also be the main event of the first night of the event.
