Cody Rhodes suffered a serious injury in the main event of WrestleMania 42, where he successfully defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton. The injury, diagnosed as an orbital injury, occurred after he was hit by an Orton Punt Kick, delivered after the match had already ended.

WWE’s first measure to protect Rhodes was removing him from the final day of WWE World on Sunday in Las Vegas, due to his health condition.

There has been a lot of speculation about his future as champion, since the expectation is that Rhodes will step away from the company’s programming for a period of time to recover.

According to Bodyslam.net, WWE has no plans to strip Rhodes of the title, at least for the time being.

What will be taken into account is the recovery time. In other words, if he progresses quickly, he will keep the title.

A possible removal will only happen if the length of his absence is greater than what the company considers acceptable.

The expectation is that Rhodes or WWE itself will provide new updates on his condition on the next Friday Night SmackDown.
