WWE appears to have bold and unprecedented plans for the match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42.

This week, more precisely on April 7, WWE announced the cards for both nights of the event, and something has caught the attention of fans and analysts.

In a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez was asked about the reason that led WWE not to place the match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar as the main event of the first night.

According to the journalist, WWE may have plans to broadcast the match for free on ESPN in North America, with the goal of attracting even more viewers to the event.

“They announced both WrestleMania cards on ESPN this week. So that’s what will happen on each show and everything else. Obviously, to me, one of the big pieces of news is that Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi will not be the main event of the first night.

So, the reason Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi are not the main event of the first night, which, let’s be honest, it should be, is because that match will open the second night. It will air on ESPN, free for everyone—basically free nowadays, who doesn’t have ESPN. The point is that this match will be shown on ESPN on the second night, and they want a big match there. Anyway, it’s not my company, obviously. Also on the second night, on ESPN, the Ladder Match featuring Penta, Je’Von, Dragon Lee, Rusev, JD McDonagh, and Rey Mysterio will take place.”

The main events of both nights of WrestleMania 42 will be the WWE world title matches. On the first night, Cody Rhodes will put the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line, while on the second, CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns.
