As we previously reported here at House of Wrestling, WWE has been facing difficulties selling tickets for WrestleMania 42, its biggest event of the year, which led the company to take some unprecedented measures for those trying to watch the event in the vicinity of Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas.
The decision, in this case, is a complete ban on any restaurant or bar that wishes to broadcast the event in its establishment within a 50-mile radius of the venue.
Now, however, this practice, which we had believed would occur only at WrestleMania 42, is also expected to take place at the Elimination Chamber on February 28, in Chicago.
The information comes from Fightful, via Sean Ross. He reported the following:
“We have been informed that watch parties for Elimination Chamber in the Chicago area are also being blocked due to WWE’s new blackout rules, in an effort to increase ticket sales.”
According to information from WrestleTix, 14,000 tickets have been sold so far for the Elimination Chamber, at a venue that holds 17,000 people, leaving just over 2,000 tickets remaining.
This year’s event will feature several interesting matches, such as CM Punk vs. Finn Bálor for the World Heavyweight Championship, as well as the Elimination Chamber Matches, which will grant opportunities at the world titles.
