Former WWE writer Vince Russo did not hold back in his criticism of Triple H following the events of last week’s Monday Night RAW at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

During the show, Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar had another intense face-off that nearly turned physical. However, WWE’s Chief Content Officer ran down to the ring to break them apart.

In a video posted on his official YouTube channel, Russo claimed that Triple H’s involvement only served to take attention away from the segment, putting the spotlight on himself instead.

“At MSG, everything is happening, everything is working—but then Triple H comes out and makes everything feel fake. It’s like the rivalry only matters when The Game gets involved. At the end of the day, everything revolves around who’s in the spotlight and at the center of the story.

They inserted themselves right into the biggest moment, especially at MSG. In the writers’ room, the idea must be that when I show up, it elevates everything and makes it more believable. But in reality, they’re just putting themselves at the center of it all. Then the new writer thinks they did a great job just because they put Triple H in the segment. In the end, you’re the one who got played.”

As previously reported by House of Wrestling, Lesnar and Femi are locked in a heated rivalry heading into WrestleMania 42.
