Tama Tonga has shown a different attitude in recent weeks on WWE programming, having multiple confrontations with MFT leader Solo Sikoa.
Tonga has questioned Sikoa’s decision to steal the Wyatt Sicks’ lantern, pointing out that the object has been causing the group’s decline. Sikoa, however, has been losing patience with Tonga, while the other members have remained neutral.
On this week’s WWE SmackDown in St. Louis, Missouri, Sikoa set Tonga up to face Uncle Howdy as the rivalry between the groups continued. Tonga, however, stated that he didn’t want anyone’s help.
When the match reached its critical moment and Howdy was close to victory, Sikoa appeared to interfere, seemingly under the influence of the lantern. The referee noticed Sikoa’s intent to attack Howdy and stopped him.
At that moment, Tonga became distracted and frustrated with Sikoa, allowing Howdy to capitalize with a Sister Abigail, followed by the pinfall.
"You don't need this. It's messing with your mind."

After the match, Sikoa tried to calm Tonga down, who complained about his interference, reminding him they had agreed he wouldn’t need any help. Tonga then took the lantern and returned it to Howdy, telling Sikoa that MFT doesn’t need it. Sikoa was clearly angered.
As a result, Tonga is now expected to be expelled from MFT soon, potentially turning babyface and entering into a rivalry with Sikoa.
