Incredibly, there are several people behind the scenes at WWE who believe that AEW’s product is currently on a superior level compared to their company’s.
Since AEW emerged in 2019, comparisons between the two companies have always been inevitable. Tony Khan’s company emerged as a strong competitor to WWE immediately.
Despite a clear rivalry between the companies, in 2022, when Triple H took over creative direction at WWE, he admitted that AEW’s product was superior.
According to Self Made Pro, many people share Triple H’s view, but in relation to the current products offered by both companies.
“A considerable number of people think this way. At the same time, there are still people in WWE, especially in decision-making positions, who undervalue AEW and act as if it doesn’t have much merit. There’s that mentality that what we do is better. Even so, many people within the company believe that AEW delivers a better product. When Hunter took over, one of his first actions was to acknowledge that, in 2022, AEW was far superior.”
Even with lower numbers than WWE, AEW has been highly praised for Revolution, the pay-per-view held on March 15th in Los Angeles.
The excellent presentation at the PPV even generated an increase in viewership for the last episode of AEW Dynamite, with the best numbers of 2026.
