Following her surprise and historic appearance at AEW Revolution on March 15 in Los Angeles, California, Ronda Rousey is not expected to return to AEW in the near future.
According to PWInsider, Rousey’s appearance at the pay-per-view was seen as an opportunity for both the wrestler and AEW. The Baddest Woman on the Planet received significant spotlight in the same city where, in May, she will face Gina Carano in her MMA return, while Tony Khan’s company benefited from strong fan engagement.
However, the same report notes that the door remains open for Rousey in AEW, meaning that whenever she chooses to return, the company will certainly have something major planned for her.
There was speculation that Rousey was responsible for the mysterious attack on Toni Storm during the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, which will reportedly sideline the former AEW Women’s World Champion until 2027. That possibility, however, has been completely ruled out.
Rousey’s appearance also drew a negative reaction backstage in WWE. Individuals within the TKO-affiliated company were reportedly displeased with what took place at AEW Revolution.
On the other hand, there are rumors that Rousey may have used the AEW appearance as a way to get back at WWE, as she left the company unhappy in 2023, immediately following her loss to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam.
