MJF, one of the top names in pro-wrestling who is not part of WWE but AEW, recently revealed the reasons why his company is superior to its competitor, in his opinion.
In an interview with The Adam Friedland Show, the current AEW World Champion stated that AEW’s roster is filled with stars, many of whom are significantly younger than WWE’s top names.
Additionally, MJF said that the fans’ connection to AEW stars feels closer and more personal, without the large gap that exists in WWE. In other words, MJF stated that AEW fans “become children again.”
MJF highlighted that nostalgia is something fantastic in WWE, such as bringing John Cena back for WrestleMania 42 and having The Undertaker announce the Hall of Fame inductees, noting that it is an excellent business strategy.
Finally, MJF stated that AEW’s product, whether in pay-per-views or weekly shows, is something entirely new, and fans are clearly excited about it.
In 2024, MJF nearly signed with WWE when his previous contract with AEW was about to expire. However, the wrestler received a major renewal offer and remained with Tony Khan’s company.
MJF’s next defense of the AEW World Championship will take place at AEW Dynasty on April 12 against Kenny Omega.
