New information regarding Chelsea Green’s situation in WWE was confirmed today. The wrestler recently suffered an injury, and new reports have now clarified what happened to the former WWE Champion.
As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Green sustained a fractured ankle. WWE initially believed the injury was just a bruise caused by an impact, but after an X-ray, it became clear that it was a fracture.
The injury occurred during the Triple Threat Match on last week’s SmackDown, when Green faced Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. Despite the incident, Green was able to finish the match, although her obvious discomfort was already noticeable that day.
The injury has also affected her commitments outside of WWE, such as the defense of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship. With Green sidelined, Ethan Page had to defend the title alongside La Hiedra in AAA, which resulted in them losing the belts to Mr. Iguana and Lola Vice.
With this new information, it is now clear that Chelsea Green is expected to miss this year’s WrestleMania 42, which takes place in April.
