Bianca Belair confirmed today on social media that she will undergo hand surgery this Monday to correct an issue she has been dealing with for over a year. The former champion took to Instagram over the weekend to update fans on the procedure.
The injury originated at WrestleMania 41 in 2025. During the Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship, which also featured IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley, a top-rope spot resulted in Rhea landing on Belair’s hand, causing severe damage to the joint.
In a later interview, she detailed the seriousness of the situation:
“So I broke my knuckle, not my finger, I broke my knuckle, I broke the joint. It’s something that I thought was going to be a very straightforward, you know, 8–12 weeks. It’s been almost six months at this point.”
The recovery, which was initially expected to last between 8 and 12 weeks, has now extended to an impressive 10 months. Since the incident, Belair has made only one televised appearance, serving as the special guest referee in the match between Jade Cargill and Naomi at Evolution in June 2025.
Previous reports, including one from House of Wrestling, indicated that WWE was hoping to have Belair back in time for WrestleMania 42, which will return to Las Vegas in April of this year. However, with the announcement of the surgery, those plans are now in jeopardy.
